Hi, I am looking for some help and advice. I have 3 ships hand built by a family member who used to work for BOAC. I have pictures of them but not sure how to upload them onto here. Would anyone be able to give me some pointers and advice on how to go about selling them? Any help is very much appreciated, I’m not after making money, I just want these to go to a good home as they have been well looked after and cared for over the years.

I'm afraid you can't sell them on here as you are not a regular contributor. Also our members are model makers rather than purchasers.

Generally speaking amateur made ship models do not command very high prices these days and specialist auction houses such as Charles Miller are unlikely to accept them.

Museums don't want them either as model exhibits tend to be rather out of favour at the moment.

The usual method of sale is via Ebay which will enable the models to be seen by the most people and offers the best opportunity of mazimum sale price and a good home. It is where most buyers will look.

I am not interested in buying myself, but have sold a good number over the years……and have helped others sell there's. if you go onto my profile I think my email address is on there and if not send me yours and I will return with mine. you can then send me pictures of your models and I can then honestly tell you what I think they might be worth.
