I am now up to issue #126 where it has become apparent that the deck sections and the hull are greatly out of alignment.

the second last deck (stern) piece #126-01 has a contour that means that is can only fit in one place, this leaves a 5mm between #102-1, gap between deck entirely across the deck

the hull is also much to wide for the deck piece #126-01by 3.5mm, Iam uses thread to pull sides of hull, have reduced this gap down to 2.00mm.

If you are thinking of taking on this expensive model I would advise you to get Hackett to enter into some sort of terms of liability.

Hi Ray and welcome to the forum.

Have you discussed this issue with Hachette? I know this is a plank on frame model but I'm not sure if the frames are secured upside down for the planking process, as would be normal to prevent any movement. Even then there is a possibility that internal stresses can cause flexing of the frames as a result of the natural tendency of the planks to want to revert to their original shape.

What I would consider though is to try to add internal transverse beams to hold the frames to the correct width before fitting the deck. If you force the hull together then glue the deck in to hold the hull in place the deck and its joint will be under a lot of tension and may fail in the future.

A very quick surf on Hatchette Bismarck reveals any number of reviews and all sorts…YouTube clips.

is there no more info to be had from these sources?.

It would be nice to see some pictures of the problem, you're more likely to get some ideas when we can see the issues.

Is this the old version or the recent one with working gizmos?

Either way, you might find someone at the Partworks Model forum who has had this problem already:
