Gunther propeller

Hia,

I’ve only just joined the online magazine today, having been reading Model Boats frequently for the past two years. I am about to start building Glynn Guest’s Skimmer airboat, as featured in Model Boats, Sept. 2007, p. 40-44.  I wonder can anybody recommend please somewhere I can buy, preferly on line, the following items:

. Gunther plastic prop 5-6 " diam. by 3" pitch, to be used in pusher mode

. Speed 400 Motor 

. R/C equipment and battery

. Soft steel wires to make the motor guard

I prefer to buy them new rather than second hand.

I have found a shop for the above items, except the propeller which is more in the aeroplane field. Can anybody recommend somewhere which might sell them? Or does anybody reading this have a spare propeller, as described above, in first class condition and are willing to sell it?

Haydn. I suggest a jolly good few hours surfing, as I had trouble finding small (4-5") propellers when building the Sunderland. 5 or even 6 Inches is jolly small for the aircraft world, and more than likely you will need an spinner adaptor to fit this sort of propeller on to a speed 400 motor 2.3mm shaft. I am contemplating an SRN 4 hovercraft and will need a similar sized 4 blade prop, but I think I may need a bit of luck for that. Cornwall model boats is reasonably cheap in regards the other stuff, but when you include postage on single items I would imagine the shop that can supply your propeller will be able to supply the other items as well. Hi Haydn,

Before the Gylnn Guest Skimmer I decided to make an Air Boat using up the workings of a plane that I could not fly,and the end result can be seen on my Gallery.The motor is behind the prop as in a plane.the gaurd is wire mesh,
