How the photographer managed to get such a sharp image of Miss Daisy at full speed is beyond me.

It may be one of a number taken with a motor drive (or whatever they call it on a digital camera).

            Hi Rick

I use a Canon EOS with a high speed facility (faster than the old motor drives) and can get decent high speed shots when I am on firm ground but on this photo it looks like the camera is on a boat.

Given that the boat with the camera on is moving in the swell then the cameras on board image control would be working hard, then add Miss Daisy coming in at top speed bouncing off the top of the swell even the best high speed digital cameras will fail to get such a pin sharp image, just look at the props on Miss Daisy, they look motionless and yet think about the revs they must be doing.

To my eyes this is one of the best phots that I have ever seen.

              Hello Paul

By looking at the larger version of the picture……..It could be superimposed?

                Hi Bob

I don't think so at high res the props have blur to the edges which would be in keeping with high speed revs.

Chaps. I think what does it is, the background is misty or hazy, and all blue/grey like it might get before a good storm. but the boat is well lit by the sun…and so there is a stark contrast that makes the boat stand out like a 3D shot.

With the delay built in on my digital camera I would be lucky to get the boat IN the picture, let alone nice and sharp!!

                  Ashley

                              And finally for today.

I know my boat handling skills are suspect but even I would have trouble doing this.
