I use a Canon EOS with a high speed facility (faster than the old motor drives) and can get decent high speed shots when I am on firm ground but on this photo it looks like the camera is on a boat.
Given that the boat with the camera on is moving in the swell then the cameras on board image control would be working hard, then add Miss Daisy coming in at top speed bouncing off the top of the swell even the best high speed digital cameras will fail to get such a pin sharp image, just look at the props on Miss Daisy, they look motionless and yet think about the revs they must be doing.
To my eyes this is one of the best phots that I have ever seen.
