I`ve started a new moaning page, as the last one is getting rather full!

The next gripe is…………………There are adverts blocking off the words in the forum…………..most annoying!

I think that’s already been raised previously Bob. I believe it happens on one thread and it has been reported to Tech Support.

Update on above post. The thread in question was the Bates Starcraft and the problem was caused by a multiple line URL causing the Forum text to go “underneath” the adverts column. On looking at the very long URL I found there was a much shorter alternative one. I have therefore deleted the problem post and put up one of my own with the alternative URL.

 

If there are any other threads suffering from this problem please let me know.

Not any more it doesn’t! That was Ashley’s fault in posting lots of >>>>>>>>>>> characters which confuses the parsing function. It’s set up to recognise proper English not alphabetical hiccups. As if I hadn’t got enough to do without you lot actively trying to break things!

I like Bobs excessive dots, if you link them up you get one of those daft images that make your eyes go funny.

 

I don’t think that we should have a moaning page as it makes us look like a lot of sad old men we will be moaning about the weather soon and how things were better with pounds, shillings and pence.

 

Perhaps we should let Colin get on with the job of sorting out the site after all he logs on often enough to see the hicups for himself and we should return to bickering about model boats.

 

Whilst we are talking about model boats I cant find any photos of Colins creations but perhaps I am looking in the wrong place.

I haven’t put any pictures of my models up yet Paul as I’ve been too busy updating the site but, yes, I will put up a personal album before long.

I could have sworn that I had seen some photos of your builds (that is why I was looking for them) have they been posted on another site or am I having another senior moment?

It will be very nice to get back to talking about model boats and stop picking holes in the new software.Speaking for myself I fully appreciate the work that is being done behind the scenes to make the software work.

I look forward to seeing your builds and being able to pick your brains about model construction.

Bob,

 

You must have caught a fleeting glimpse of the OMRA article album! Our Technical Expert has come up with a method of using albums to supply the photos in the backdated magazine articles you can see in the third column on the main page. I create an album for each article and then you can see it when you open the article. This is easier than the technique Vinnie previously used. The album itself is marked “non public” so you can’t see it by going into the Albums normally. I have asked for this technique to be extended for other purposes so the Tech Guy may have been playing around with the settings. Or you may simply have seen it before I made the album non public.

 

Paul, you may have seen some of my stuff on Model Boat Mayhem to illustrate particular points but I will collect some photos together and set up a Public album here before too long.

Yes, that has just been introduced by the Tech Support Guy. There are a lot of little things like that which can be done to make everything run more smoothly but it will take time to get round to all of them.

I can post pictures to the galleries…………but not to the forum pages!

 

When I click on…”insert image”…….the pc goes into a big sulk and tries to load some enormous file, even before I`ve selected a photo!

 

Any suggestions?
