I remember the instance very well, but don't really know how we can exclude anybody, with our incessant chattering?

I look forward to contributing my two pennerth, to any worthwhile subject…….and the replies too, of course!

The IPad is the ideal medium for this, as I can sit with the wife and watch the Telly at the same time!

Bob, I watched the episode of Coast featuring your Great Eastern last night…you're a starstar, and the model's not too bad, eithersmiley. The series hasn't gone to air here in Australia yet, but I managed to get it by other meanswink, and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole program. The model really looked the part, and seemed to perform very well.

Congratulations on a job well done.

        Peter.

          Hello Peter

Many thanks for your kind comments regarding the Coast programme

I`ve been told that there is a further programme, knocking about in cyber space, showing how the film was actually made on the day.

Can`t believe it myself, but the chap was a reliable club member and adamant about it.

He did say it was not a BBC programme

          All the best, Pete……Bob

            Hello Captain Curly

I can't find the piece either, all I have found is the extract from the Coast programme itself and a picture of you working on your lathe.

Could Pete give a little more information so that we can narrow the search.

The great Eastern Coast programme has been and gone, ages ago

It will be repeated shortly, no doubt

Dear Bob. Great Eastern is a really beautiful ship. I wonder if you've got a plan, or if you did everything on your own. If you found, or made a drawing, will you sometime share?

Sorry to announce that the legendary hour long programme, mentioned earlier, was the result of a very "reliable" club members over active imagination or another of his Senior Moments!

None of us believed it really!

A special programme based on our day at Hoylake would make a very interesting and enjoyable programme, well worth watching

Thanks for the interest, but I'm still not of a clear thinking mind at the moment

Going for a month's intensive treatment next month and perhaps the situation may improve

Having said that…..Her indoors is not over enthusiastic about the return of the dust clouds!

I understand and hope that the treatment works ok.

To avoid dust you could always do the Glasgow Steamer kit that you have been promising yourself.

Re the avatar I thought it was about time I dropped the 'fat controller' as its been some years since the nickname was used.

Don't think I have too much need for concern at the moment!

I find myself looking at the Glasgow kit quite a lot lately…….and like you say, it won't cause too much dust either!

It's the Colwyn Bat show this Sunday and will be taking Great Eastern, Ducky will be there as usual and quite a few Etherow chappies too

The weather looks very promising at the moment!…….Can't believe it myself, but we'll see!

Paul, i wondered about the avatar. Gosh you do look young !! Who`s the old wotsit in the background?? I have yet to get another picture with a small enough pixel count.I shrank one I had..so i look either fat or thin.Such is life.

Bob. Glasgow…good subject and easy set of paddles. Feathering too!!

I wonder how it goes? i would imagine it would be fairly sprightly on the water. Must look at u-toob..must be something on there surely.

There was a cracking set of Graupner paddles on fleabay a couple of weeks ago.

There are plenty of Glasgow vids on YouTube and it sails quite nicely, but there is a distinct lack of wash and aggression!

If you look for "Tealduck" you will see my Great Eastern ploughing through the water at Etherow and you will know what I'm on about!

I'm beginning to fancy a Glasgow now and hope to see one at Colwyn Bay tomorrow

                                                      Paul.

The cycling event is running right past our street. It will cut us off from most of Surrey on the 28 th 29th (boating day) and !st August viz using the car. Blooming nuisance.

I am glad my picture is of some use, although I dont suppose you get much beer in your anywayup cup?

Bob, Yes I have surfed the wide open internet and seen some of the Glasgow videos, as you say Bob, lack of wash…must be fairly efficient, then? or just not driven hard enough!

On the other hand, the paddles are very large for the overall size of boat, unlike the GE, the paddles of which are much much smaller and so would have to thrash more.

The hull Neil posted a link to, on my "Clipper hull" post is a cracker…have a look-see, AND sized I think for the Graupner paddles. Bob, you ought to consider that, I mean , a man of your talents, a Graupner kit?? DIY, go on, ready made hull and paddles..it is almost in the water!!
