15850481611731499211596636340432.jpgHi, having problems with a hobbywing 16bl30. Recover bound ok, occasionally get starting servo movement but no motor. Just a differing array of red flashing lights and warning beeps that no instructions seem to mention. All new and unused.15850482349868678337538868560738.jpg

Are you say that the ESC is not working as you expect?

I bought one of those esc a few weeks ago as it was slightly cheaper than the Marine V 3 waterproof that I have used before. I struggled to set it up even using my programming card. Talking to component shop we came to the conclusion that this Esc is intended for cars. No problem using in a boat but you need the car programming card.

Using the car card it was up and running in minutes.

Ah, finally managed to recalibrate throttle position and have motor turning in one direction, but still no stearing servo movement.

If the ESC is working then so is the receiver – the implication is that your servo may be faulty. First of all, make doubly sure that you have the steering servo plugged into the correct Rx output – I made that silly mistake recently when I bought a different make of radio from the one I usually use. I'd suggest then removng the ESC and connecting a 4-cell battery pack to the Rx. If the servo still doesn't work then try a different servo if you can. The aim is to isolate the problem down to one unit which you can then replace/stamp on/bin, as deemed suitable.

Other popular ways to have a non-working servo (apart from having a dead servo) are

1 – plug in the wrong channel

                2 – plug reversed

3 – plug between the pins rather than on the pins

4 – that channel not working on the transmitter.

5 – old servo with the wires in the wrong order

A servo tester is a wonderful thing, and either solves many problems or at least provides good clues.
