I had a very nice trip out today to the Ellesmere Port boat show, lots of sunshine and catching up with some old pals.

      ep 13.jpg

The event was very busy with lots of visitors.

      ep 9.jpg

With plenty of sailing in the lagoon (except when the excursion narrow boat was turning around. but even then the tugs got stuck in).

      ep 2.jpg

I am sure that the narrow boat skipper really appreciated the help but it all added to the fun.

      ep 3.jpg

I was really impressed by this naval TID, it looked to be about 4ft long

      ep 5.jpg

It looked really impressive out on the water.

      ep 4.jpg

Amid the tugs and fast boats was this superb sail boat.

      ep 11.jpg

      ep 9.jpg

Being expertly handled by a very calm owner who didn't seem to become perturbed by the fast boats whizzing past his bow.

      ep 8.jpg

One of these fast boats was this little fire float.

      ep 7.jpg

Doing some high speed runs and turns

      ep 6.jpg

It made a good show of itself despite being small.

      ep 12.jpg

This Sea Rover was extremely fast

      ep harbour 1.jpg

Not forgetting the superb harbour set up that must have taken hours to put together on the water

I think you`ve covered the show quite nicely there, Paul…..Very well done, and a nice set of good photo`s too

Paul and I have finally met up at the show today, after 8 years of website chatting!

We had a nice friendly chat on the Etherow stand, where he finally clapped eyes on Brutus and Ellie and was pleased with the builds

Brutus, SloMo and Ellie at the back

Nice event as always, with plenty to see in the museum as an added attraction

              Bob

                Hi Colin

I had a really good time and thankfully had yesterdays sunshine, unfortunately its rained for most of the day today so I hope it hasn't ruined the event for those who visited today. The Ellesmere Port Model Boat Club are to be congratulated for organising and managing a first class event.

                Hi Larry

There were lots of people there and I walked past Bob without seeing him so its not surprising that we didn't bump into each other. I was only there for three hours and one of those was spent in the heady company of the Etherow club getting an insight into the very interesting world of UHF frequencies.

                Jolly good fun

                Paul

Likewise, I was chatting to the same guy for a good 20 minutes, the Transmitter he builds are just awesome..

We probably passed each other many times

                    Larry

Chatting to Geoff about transmitters proved to be a great help as I have been playing around with developing one suitable for my father in law to use, he has Parkinsons and the little sticks and switches are far to small for him to use.

No doubt we will catch up at Haydock where Arthur informs me that you will be manning the pool.

Gareth Jones and his wife, with Shemarah ll in the car boot along with Elizabeth`s latest project, a nice restoration project, Tea Clipper

They also brought and sailed The Loch Ness Monster lookalike but I didn`t manage to take a picture, unfortunately

Must have been a pretty large model boat if you needed a horse to tow the trolley…

                                      Paul,

In your text you passed comment that you liked the naval TID, must say I liked your 7th (no 11) photograph, the Manchester Ship Canal tug model. Remember photographing the full sized one last year.
