I've just received my copy of Decembers magazine and read Dave Wooley's piece on the Lifeboat event at New Brighton.

I'm sure that I recognise Neil's lifeboats in a couple of pictures but I'm not quite sure.

I also see that the free gift for new subscribers is a nifty transmitter and I wonder how long it will be before some shortsighted existing members start yammering for one.

At the end of the day people will always try to get a bargain.

Shame the next issue will be the last of the collectors corner as I always found that pretty intresting.

I'm told that the paper type hasn't changed, but the images don't seem to be quite so sharp this month. Apparently it could be in the retouching or printing process. Wait until the next issue and see if things are back to normal.

Dont tell me pictures of model boats are airbrushed and digitally enhanced like supermodels on the front of "Elle" magazine !! whatever next.

I shant bother to paint my next submission (if there is one), I shall just let the editor pick his favourite colour!!

You'd be surprised what they can do to enhance old images – you could get yourself a complete makeover!

On a different matter, there is a current post , that is asking about using tights for doing something to hulls in the construction phase and he is asking about this technique.

I am simply dying to say that i use stocklings generally as you can use those little straps to tighten things up better, but the poster is a new man and probably would think I am just a smart-arse (not true, of course)./….
