Coulur of the deck

Just what colour is the deck of HMS Hood? The instructions supplied with the Airfix 1:400 scale model has you mixing 4 different colours together as follows:

 

6 parts x 34

1 part x 73

25 parts x 94

3 parts x 101

 

Can anyone suggest an easier way of doing this? It seems an awefull waste of some of the colours just to add such a small quantity if you are not going to be using those colours again sometime soon.
