Hi, everyone. I have recently bought a beautufully finished Flower Class corvette, complete with power train etc. I need to know what battery or batteries to use to power it – any suggestionss, please?

You'll need to say what motor is fitted, this dictates the battery voltage needed. Most of us would probably guess correctly, but it's best to be sure.

Hi Den,

I use these Nickel Metal Hydride buggy packs for most of my scale boats, they are 7.2 volts and come in various capacities the more you pay the more running time you'll get , and they can be fast charged and weigh 13ozs.

The little Sealed Lead Acid battery is 6 volt and 1.3 amp hr is slightly lighter at 11ozs and has to be trickle charged.

Howes of Oxford have a page in Model Boats advertising all sorts & they have a Website.

Have you finished the Eventide yet ?

Thanks, both. Ray, that is great – the pictures really help – I have a 'container' pack for nimhs, so that should be OK.

I have got as far as the bulkhead printouts, but on hold at the mo with the Eventide. Cheers, Den (I'll keep you posted)
