Well i painted my great white whale ,aka my leander class frigate, and i’m just not happy with what i see SO i plan to recover it all in 1mm lite ply which i shoould have done in this 1st place !!! Isnt hind sight a wonderful gift !!!! Ah well lets put it to one side b4 i give it a viking funeral and concentrate on my pt boat .

Any one else get the boat building blues.

                                                                       Another moan is my fave (and only) model shop in cardiff,antics,never have what i want in stock and it holds up production no end .Any one else get these problems ??? Well thats got it off my chest so thanks for reading this and good night .

Been round to Bob’s this afternoon and JDAW was there all finished and waiting for her Maiden Voyage , You can have the bottle of Bubbly to launch her Bob.

Andy.Card may well be a viable alternative, if its just a nice flat surface you are aiming for and not strength.Assuming yoy have paint on it though I am not sure what would be best to glue this on to your hull? An alternative might be the tissue/resin approach?  I have no less than THREE good model shops within a reasonable distance from me at home or work, failing this good old mail order has to be the thing.Ashley

Hi ashley .I have used mounting board for the hull and give it a few coats of matt varnish and sand and seal and it has ,thus far, provded to be ok.But i shall take the advice of someoe who has been in the game,note i said in the game and not on the game !!!!,for along time and i will have a look at mail order.Any suggestions on diffrent sites for buying wood.
