      John,

Glynn's free plans are in the paper shops – they are stitched in to the magazine and you can remove them. I don't think you can expect newsagents to carry wood packs, that isn't their line of business! Model shops could – if you can still find any, but would they consider it worth stocking them when you can simply buy them online?

        Hi All,

Let's not forget this is a commercial enterprise, pure and simple, nothing really to do with our hobby in the slightest.

        Regards Ray

A sobering thought, Ray, and very true.

Regarding the cost of producing a a magazine. This particular magazine has a planned production run lasting over two and a half years. Surely there may come a point where the number of magazines being sold is insufficient to continue production. We have all seen this type of publication before….build a dolls house, build a model car etc., but I wonder how many of these complete the full production run.

                  Hi David

You make a very good point but the publishers have already thought about it as they want to tie buyers in by committing to a subscription for the entire collection.

As already pointed out the publishers are running a profit making business and wouldn't commit to actually publishing unless they either very sure of getting a good return or have enough advance subscriptions to cover their basic costs.

I presume that the potential profit is very high as I can't see the model itself having a huge production cost.

                  Paul
