      Captain Bob

This is good as the rudders can be fitted in their original position but I would advise fitting a neoprene gasket to the access hatch to prevent flooding.

As I remember the hatch seal was the problem, as when the boat was reversed the water washed over the hatch and leaked in through the gap between the hatch and deck, a simple seal would prevent this problem from occurring.

        Hi Paul

The hull covering is now 3mm thick, whereas, on MK1 it was only 1mm

I could probably screw a cover on now with a gasket too

Working on the superstructure and have just roughed out the side walls and front windows

          For Paul`s benefit

I think it`s looking quite good at this early stage?

A small lip on the stern would stop water flooding up on the rear deck when reversing? Doesn’t have to be too deep, just enough to turn the water over and curl it back on itself?

What motors do you have available?? Names and addresses of them please Bob. Don’t want a rerun of Slo Mo and all that angst (850s perfectly adequate).

Thank you Ashley, for your kindly advice

The rudder hatch will be a watertight compartment ( hopefully ) and the hull will have a wall inside the main housing

And we've got space for the famous chain driven rudder Mech……That should please Ray

Now then, because there are no straight , square or easy reference points on the hull.

I came up with a cunning plan! I fitted a woodscrew up front, to act as a datum reference

Then drilled out the one metre rule to slip over the screw head and then checked the salient points for symmetry

Low and behold they weren`t that far off!

Are you keeping the rear hatch surface mounted, as in your photo, or will it be flush fitted like MK1? any thoughts about the final paint job.

                                  Hello Paul

                                  Welcome back

I was going to screw the hatch to the hull to make it water tight

The main hatch joint is yet to be matched up with the hull

Not thought about the paint finish, but I like the idea of dazzle camoflage

That's a curvey model Bob. These modern ships are pretty hard to model. It looks the part. Is it about a meter long?

                                      Hello Brian

The model is 48" long and is a warship of the future, it has a sharp bow to cut through the water, instead of riding the waves

….and just like the new warships is going to have integrated electric propulsion system! (Pair of 850s)

Think there was a discussion of colour schemes for the last one.

Dazzle has no place for a large warship of the future. The Swedes use cammo but that’s for small ships in amongst all those fjords (or is it the Norwegians? Or both.)

                                            OK Bob…. in order…..

Subtle paint job…dark grey fading up to very pale grey on top. Deck camouflaged with light blue (to mimic the blue sky shining off the water surface as seen from a patrol aircraft.

Dont bother with brushless if you have…..4 x 850s!!! way to go…X60 props, yes

Silver/stripes….will make it look like a common speedboat only missing a drivers head on top.. You could paint it white/blue to mingle with the hordes of Faireys on the pond??? good cammo.

Sound…wouldnt bother…do you want steam engine of diesel sounds out of an advanced warship??? Gun sounds not right for a laser/missile based weaponry. Simulated laser lights from the top might be better.

The 850`s have been out for years

                                                What a pity they didn`t make a 950 and 1200 say?

There must be a market for them?

At the moment I`m spending my time sanding and filling etc

And minor mods to the hatch openings
