Having read some of the posts, am I correct – My 28 x 30 1150 kv turnigy motor will spin a 35 mm prop at ~ 6500 rpm on a 2s pack and ~9000 rpm on a 3s pack – it just pulls whatever current is needed ? So changing to a 40 mm or 45 mm prop means just the motor pulls more and more current ? How am I doing here ? No gearbox needed anymore – just decent capacity Li poly packs .For a 30 inch workboat model this could be too much – should I buy an 800 kv motor of about 30 mm diam of what size wattage . Thanks

A workboat could mean quite a lot of different types, but generally I would imagine it has a displacement hull and is fairly slow-moving with a large diameter 3 or 4-blade prop and relatively low revs. If so then you really need a larger diameter motor with more torque and less kv. Perhaps a 35mm diameter motor of no more than 750kv would be a reasonable place to start from.
This might be a good one on a 3S pack **LINK**
