I had a wonderful time at Haydock meeting all of our forum chums and picking up some excellent advice. Mike, who is building Thor, has designed removable ballast packs that fit neatly inside the frame spaces, you can see the moulds for these packs in my hand as Mike explains his idea.

Being a really nice chap he even made a set of moulds for me, I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Mike and I am very grateful that he travelled so far to meet up.
Mike and Cookie both made very generous donations but didn't tell me which charity should benefit…..so Mike & Cookie please send me a pm.
Invisible Man also travelled a great distance to visit the show on Saturday which, given his medical problems, couldn't have been an easy trip. After our chat about fast cats on Saturday I spent some time sketching some designs and on Sunday I thrashed out a design with Bob which includes bow mounted rudders (Yes bow mounted rudders…..and they work) this cat will be really fast with some hairy brushless motors.
On the subject titled 'you don't know everything' Gareth pointed out that I had omitted a vital part off Thor, this part is very necessary for towing and keeps the tow line over the stern…….what can I say other than DOH
Something that really surprised me during the weekend was the publics most popular model on our stand……Bobs SloMo2. Thor attracted a lot of interest especially the way that the thrusters work and the 5ft Lady Jane's 'impossible' bow became the focus of much discussion.
We met some very friendly and interesting people and spent many hours explaining all about Model Boat Fundraising and how the designs work.
I arrived home on Sunday evening absolutely tired out, slept for 12 hours and spent most of today lounging on the sofa.
Many thanks to Bob for giving up his weekend to help me
