Blanket Weed Problem

Our model boat club at Sandwell has had to stop operating , due to Blanket Weed . Have any other Club got this problem ?. is there a fast solution?.Does anyone have a pool around Sandwell we could perhaps temporary use?

yes, fleetwood had the same problem a few years ago…wyre borough council who own the lake put two sonic transponders into the bed of the lake that act on pulsating signals [ don’t ask me how] but it worked and the lake has been free ever since.

Luckily the ponds and streams at Bushy Park, Surrey, do not suffer too much from this, what we get is that very gauzy bright green stuff that sits on the bottom of the streams. Tangles props quicker than a politician claiming expenses.

 

Our pond is absolutely thick with water fleas at the moment. its like soup. No wonder the carp are so massive. They are almost as much of a nuisance to boating as weed at the moment.

Went up to our pool today . and the weed with the strong wind has now realocated to one end ,
