Yes – I'd agree. At least half of the items are old Maplins' units anyway – it's the name printed on them that gives them away.

I think maybe Colin was referring to the scrappy presentation of the items in the photo rather than their quality. It would have been easier to appraise their true value if the seller had cleaned them up and listed them, but he sold them anyway so all's well. As for Maplin's ESC's, I never had one so I can't comment….. but quite what EP meant missed me by a mile.

Yes John, I was referring to the presentation in the photo which made the items look like a pile of junk.

My old Maplins unit is still fine after all those years plus one complete immersion when the boat half filled with water at Wicksteed. I gave it a run at Bushy Park last Autumn. And the radio is still a 70s Futaba 27meg steerwheel.

Wll Dave it goes like this Johns comment that Colin liked them in his write up as opposed to his recent comment = maybe something in his pocket this was said in jest. The missing whisky is what should have been delivered with the Magazine subscription Apparently they ran out of stock must have had someone else subscribe
