      Hi all,

I am from the carp fishing background and have a Angling Technics Procat Mk2 bait boat which is great. Bought it with a friend 2nd hand last year and used it successfully for all of last summer (upto around 8/9 fishing trips).

The boat performed on every use last year and was put away under my mates bed with its batteries disconnected (but the handset/transmitter batteries still connected). Went to use it last week and having problems with it.

When the boat is turned on, the motors run all the time with the control sticks in the central position, when the control sticks are moved to certain positions the motors will stop or change the noise they are making (guessing caused by a slight change of direction). When the channel of the right hand control stick is changed to N rather than R, the boat responds as if the handset/transmitter isn't turned on.

Any suggestions are appreciated, although we have tried recharged/different batteries and I have crystals on order, as we are really keen to get this fixed (and try not to send it back to the manufacturer).

      Many thanks in advance!

Andrew. Have just spotted your post.

I will assume no one on the forum knows much about bait boats and so there are no replies.

I would have thought, although it sounds a bit funny, that a fishing website may be more informative. There will be far more users of this sort of thing on these sites and someone may have some suggestions.

However, a check of the connections may be in order, disconnect all the connections one at a time and reconnect..check for corrosion , and do we assume that both transmitter and main batteries have been recharged/swapped. Borrowing different batteries for a tryout is always worthwhile. If nothing has been disturbed since it was put away I am afraid that trying out or substituting alternative parts may be your only course of action.

          Ashley

            Hi

Just had a quick look at the Angling Technics Procat Mk2 wensite. Seems the boat runs on a 2.4ghz system, so should not need crystals. Unless this is an older boat that used the 27 or 40 system. maybe that will help th emore technically minded folk out there, as I do not know too much. You could try re-binding the system if it is 2.4ghz.

What tyoe of battery is it using, Lipo, Nimh or other?

Thanks for you reply Ashley, I have posted the same posts in angling forums and had some replies. Trying to cover all bases in the hope of getting quick and varied responses. The Procat Mk2 runs a 27 system, i Believe the newer Mk3s run 2.4ghz. The batteris are Nimh.

I have now managed to fix the issue. Tried my crystals in a friends handset and it worked no problem so faulty handset is the diagnosis. New handset is on order for £15 so very little money.

Many thanks for your input and suggestoins. All appreciated.
