Hi All
Anyone sugest a good adhesive for sticking clear acrylic to clear acrylic. Thanks in advance.

If you use super glue you risk clouding the acrylic,but a 5 minute epxoy should do the job.

Adhesives

There are few better than Plastic Weld.

Five star adhesives do a good solvent , can't remember it's name but it works well.

Dichloromethane (?) is the stuff in them both.

If you leave the top off the bottle the active ingredient seems to evaporate leaving the glue apparently useless.

Freshsolvent can be assured if you use a dispenser. These are a few quid and worth their weight in gold

Acrylic can be "welded" together with Acetone. But you probably know that. It requires clean cuts and long time to heal (24h). But the joint will be as the acryl is the same sheet, the acetone dissolves the acrylic so it fuses together.

just a thought but have you tried polystyrene cement? sticks clear canopies to fuselage cockpits. worth a try on a bit of scrap otherwise I personally use "weldbond" for sticking clear to anything,doesn`t fog and is a solid bond
