      can anyone help with advice on how to convert am old 27mhz Nautical Commander to 2.4ghz – its the only one with Twin Throttle controls I know of other than the F14 the price of which is way over my budget. .

            Could you buy a reasonably priced 2.4ghz set and convert the right stick to a throttle by adding the ratchet. I once did this on a Planet 7 radio. Quite a quick conversion.

            I have a Robbe F14 Navy 40 kHz. Agree about the cost but I have had it about 20 years and use it on 3 boats.

              A while back there was plenty of advice about fitting a 2G4 module to replace the original sets RF unit. I got the feeling that it was only applicable to certain radios. Obviously, a new, compatible, receiver was needed. No idea if the units are still available.

              The link above is to a thread from 2012 – looking for the module used back then shows that the particular item is discontinued. A search for "2G4 transmitter conversion module" gave **LINK** among other clues. Again, they usually only work with the same brand receiver.

                Thanks all for the advice – will be contacting various suppliers to find out which unit works on the Ace. Will post again when its converted.
