      Hi all,
Has any body else had trouble with the MyHobbyStore customer services? I have built up the princely sum of £2.68 in rewards points and I cannot fathom out how to redeem that money. According to the web site information when you get to the paying web page you should be offered an option to redeem points – I do not get this option presented to me for some reason. An e-mail to the store’s customer services via their “contact us” link requesting help has been met with no response whatsoever. I actually bought a kit from them about a year ago and there were some shortages but I found customer services poor at sorting the problem out and in the end I went direct to the kit manufacturer’s UK office (Billings) and had the problem quickly resolved. I find most suppliers in our hobby execellent in responding to queries but MyHobbyStore are not one of them.

Finally got a reply from MyHobbyStore – 5 days to respond. It seems you need to accumulate 500 points before you are able to redeem any of them. Now, I have had a good look at the web page describing the rewards scheme http://www.myhobbystore.co.uk/article.asp?p=11. I cannot spot anything specifying a minimum accumulation of 500 points required before the points can be used. Not very satisfactory in my opinion. At my present rate of spend it will take me about another 6 years of Model Boats mag subscriptions before I can spend my fiver!

See my thread about same lack of customer service response on feedback forum. And the problem has still not been finally resolved!!

              Hi Peter,
I have read your thread on Feedback. I am glad you got prompt responses from Colin and Paul which is what you would expect. A big disappointment that MyHobbyStores customer service has let you down. Mind you they are not the only ones! Just had a problem with the UK agents of Billings. I am building the Billings plank on frame St Canute tug which sports a nice complex funnel transfer. Unfortunately I succeeded in wrecking said transfer by placing masking tape over it – complete disaster. I rang the agents to order a replacement. The Billings expert was “not at his desk” so a message was left for him to ring me back by one of his colleagues. Two days passed without a call so I rang once more – “expert” was not at his desk (in the warehouse apparently) so once more a message was left on his desk to ring me back. Now, five more days have elapsed without a call so I have now tried a different approach by sending them a letter detailing their failings. Probably won’t work but it made me feel better!
