Matt. That is a long shaft. I would get a 5mm shaft for this length myself, as 4mm ones may be prone to whip.

Ashley ps dont forget to allow for coupling length between shaft and motor.

Have a look at the D3548/4 1100KV 910watt motor which will run on 3S to 5S batteries.

If you get an ESC with reverse which will handle 3s to 5S.

This will give a fair amount of play room for the speed you require.

Battery Turnigy 5800mah.3S.25C(475grams) will get you about 3/4 hour.

The higher the C the more current you have on tap.

Prop start with plastic because cheap, so you can have a good range to experiment with, metal props can get pricey.

I got a few from Hobbyking for my 1100 kv motor ,38mm and 40mm 2 bladed pitch 1.4.

I just received a 40mm x 1.4 pitch metal one which I installed on my boat and will test.

I think the Hobbyking D3548/4 1100kv 910watts on a3s 5800mah 40mm x1.4 pitch prop 2 blade would be a good start(12,210rpm) and if require a bit speed change to a 4S battery(16,280rpm).

Make sure you ESC can handle 60A and 4S batteries.

Putting to large a prop on will load up the motor and ESC.
