Decided it was time to break free from the Build Fixture

The hull feels as light as a feather now

There's no material in the hull to screw into

        Bob

Not to tell you how build but I usually screw the skin to the frames and stringers wink

The bow looks great and the hull is spot on, have you decided on the engines yet?

          Hi Paul

Not decided on the power plant at the moment

I think two banks of three 540 motors in a row, might look interesting?

            Hello Horatio Abell

            How about one BIG motor?

            torquemaster 1.jpg

I got this one when I was trying out tug motors and it is now surplus to requirement.

24v and enough torque to break your wrist.

With this the model could tow the Etherow dinghy with both you and Duckie on board.

              Wow…..That's one big motor!

A fine time to suggest ONE motor……Having not put a hole down keel?

What are the dimensions?……I could always fit a belt drive

Also…….Don't forget the ban on high speed boats on our water

The man bearing the brunt of all the aggro………Has just resigned!

                Hi Bob

Dont worry as its not built for speed, the specs are as follows.

24v DC, No load current 1.5A, Nominal current 3A,

                Nominal speed 3200rpm.

The water resistant can is just under 100mm long and 65mm dia,

                Waterproof gland type cable seal

                The 8mm shaft extends 30mm

                Motor weighs 1150g

                    Hi Paul

I`ve just come across the original motors out of Brutus

They are too good to ignore………

MFA RX15 Plus……..With unusual mechanical speed adjustment and matching ESC too

                    7.2 volts………..20,000 rpm………190 watts

It`s a shame not to use them

And a picture of the proposed motors, just for your interest

                        Bob

The RX15's were a little under powered in Brutus so they should be ideal for this sedate river cruiser.

I agree with you there Paul………..Something sedate in keeping with latest club rules

Glued the foredeck in place now and have the main deck roughed out

The model is quite simple, but I`m really enjoying the build

Ideal, when one`s wife is glued to the telly, watching, Wimbledon, Tour de France and Athletics!

                            Hello Horatio

The boat was intended as an easy and fairly quick build.

I'm glad that you are enjoying it.

Not very exciting, but the build followers out there, will find it of interest

Paul…….Haven`t got drawings for cabin front and rear ends, please

I could easily guess them but we may as well work to the drawings

Also added a 6mm x 6mm strip round the walls on the inside

                                                  Progress report

Since we`ve got plenty of plywood off cuts……….And no plywood……

Decided to plank the cabin roofs with strips of 10mm x 3mm ply

It also saves me the trouble of having to wrestle with a full sheet

Once covered with thickish paper, the surface should look quite authentic?
