That`s quite correct, Colin and you have put our minds at rest……Many thanks

Access along the boat can be via the Engine Room and the outer walkway is for access to the cabin roofs and the Dinghy etc

Paul, the drawings are correct really but I think the walkways need to be 50mm wide

Which leads me to one final point…………My walkways are 50mm wide!…………..LOL

The cabin end wall ( Drg 16 ) is actually 12 1/4" wide on the inside…..Former 4 shows the coaming width to be 13 1/2"

      So…..Bob`s yer Uncle afterall!

      Like it?………Not `arf!

Photo will be posted in the morning…………Night night

        Bob

I'm glad that your mind is at rest and that Colin has allayed your concerns about side deck widths.

I am completely confused and seem to have spent an afternoon spinning around and trying to knit fog so I am off to bed with some tramadol.

Can somebody please let me know what this was all about and if I actually won a coffee.

Building at Sellafield was a breeze compared with this

          Hello Paul

I think I may have discovered the reason for your confusion

Your latest drawing of Former 4 is not the same as mine

            Thanks Old Friend

Enlightenment dawns and confusion ends as it is obviously a simple matter of not keeping upto date with drawing revisions.

              Hello Paul

There is a slight draughting error on Former 5

              The crossbar is amiss

Finished the lifebelts now………I think they enhance the cabin area, nicely

                Dearest Bob

Thank you for letting me know that there is a drafting error on F5 but could you give me a little more detail relating to the problem and how it has affected your project so that I can resolve the issue and send revised drawings out to the people who have purchased the plan.

The lifebelts look very realistic and you should be proud of achieving such a fine level of detail without resorting to buying ready made items.

Have you fitted the galley out with a stove etc?

Thank you, my mate for those kind words…….I'm pleased you approve of the life belts

The slight error on Former 5 does not appear on the drawing that I've got

But even if it did, there is not a problem…….As that part of the former is cut away after planking

Ralph would be the builder to ask?

Galley and toiletry can be housed in the engine room………..They are on the list

                      There is an error

Just compare the two former's cross rails

As you say the cross rails are cut off after skinning or planking. I still don't see any error in the drawings so could you please explain exactly what the error is and where on the cross rail it occurs.

                              I agree………It`s high time for a sail!

If the weather`s nice, it could be tomorrow!

Only hope Duckie is available to assist and make the video

                                Hello Bob

                                That is good news.

It will be nice to see how that hull works in the water as I have high hopes for that bow design.

The weather forecast for SK6 5JD tomorrow is dry with hazy sunshine and light breeze in the morning and dry, overcast with a light breeze in the afternoon…….so no excuses there.

Lets all hope that Duckie is available and has his batteries all charged up.

Kevin has his fingers crossed and might even be giving odds on the outcome.

Sods Law ……….Duckie can`t make it tomorrow

Not to worry……..I`ll go anyway and hope there is someone sailing, who can help out

                                  Brother Geoff may be available

The model is quite light……….Even Lady Joyce could lend a hand?

First batch shows transporting model from car to landing stage bench

The built in wheels and detachable front wheels were a great help

We had a lot of fun, taking these pictures………..A lovely day for it too!

Many thanks to Paul for creating such a handsome model

Launching………Because the water level is about 6" lower than normal, launching looked a bit clumsy

Didn`t want to let any water in over the stern rail

Finally, she`s in the water and floating nicely

She backed out gently, to the purr of the Quad engines…..Which sounded s bit like a Morris Minor!

This was very exciting and great fun

We cruised about very carefully and gingerly

                                                BBC NEWS REPORT

THE BOAT IS IN THE WATER

Our reporter waited all night so as not to miss this momentous event.

Never before in the history mankind have so many waited for so long to see such a spectacle.

A host of trumpeters could be seen lining the banks of Etherow lake and a mighty chorus of cherubs prepared to sing in exultation as the mighty builder slowly plodded inexorably toward the launching point.

The subject of many many months work and avid speculation was being dragged behind the mighty builder, looking in many ways like a disobedient puppy the model is eventually manhandled into the water.

A mighty roar arose from the gathered multitude as the boat slid quietly into the water and finally got wet.

'WELL DONE BOB' 'and about blo-dy time'
