Thanks Banjo And Diede?……BTW……Do you two know each other?

        Hi Bob,

I have no clue who Banjoman is IRL, he is from Belgium according to his profile so maybe if he is also active on the Dutch Modelbouwforum.nl I might know him…? Not sure though, so for now I'd go with not knowing him…

Grey would be a good choice of color, it being the most used color (together with orange and black) for these crafts. As black is too dull and orange pretty much "in your face" and more suited to lifeboats and the like… grey is the only feasible choice, really.

          Hello Bob and Diede,

No, Diede and I do not know each other. Although I live in Belgium, and thus not all that far from the Netherlands, I'm originally from Sweden so my "other forum" is a Swedish one, rather than modelbouwforum.nl. Ik spreek wel zeker en vast Nederlands, maar mijn tijd om op meerdere fora te zitten is jammer genoeg niet oneindig [although I certainly speak Dutch, the time I have available to spend on various fora is, alas, not unlimited].

            A Happy Accident?

Painted the dinghy a grey colour……And it turned out to be silver!

But it looks ok to me

Ah!………I knew you were a Dark Horse!………Dual nationality, hey?

              Did you know…ABBA?

Can you post a LINK to your Swedish forum?……….Just out of interest?

Well, no; not dual nationality; just living abroad.

And yes: of course I know ABBA — it's the brand that does those delicious pickled herrings that we Swedes just cannae do without: **LINK** (and **LINK**)

The Swedish forum on which I'm active is called Modellbygge i fokus: **LINK**. If you want to test your mettle on some Contemporary (as opposed to Old) Norse, here is for example the latest part on that forum of my Eilean Mòr build log: **LINK**.

                          Hi Banjo,

The time-issue sounds all too familiar to me, unfortunately… So I spend most of my time on model forums on the dutch one, with this one coming in second and every now and then – once in a couple of months – I briefly browse Modelboat Mayhem.

                          Paul,

Don't mind Bob's diplomatic skills, we know who it is who is saying it laugh

                          Bob,

Just finish the rubber boat with a matte clear coat and it'll be just fine. I like this color much better, especially imagining it once you are done with the details.

                            Hi chaps

I gave the rope loop patches a lot of thought over the last few days and finally came up with this simple idea…

Plastic tube cut into rings……Then cut into arcs……Then marked out and drilled

For the loop I`ve used wire flex……Pushed through and snipped off

Will be painted black and glued on

                            Dinky idea, eh?

Just for the record and a timely warning to some of the thoughtless dog walkers, we were walking round Etherow Park today and Duckie spotted a Jack Russell, off it`s lead and disappear down the Badger Sett !

He informed the Park Rangers, who dashed off to investigate

Luckily, the dog emerged safe and sound!………..Must be the luckiest dog in the park?

How it survived from being mauled to death, is a minor miracle

Needless to say, the amused dog owners got the bo**icking of a lifetime later, from the Rangers

Here`s a handy tip for when working on fine detail

                                      The famous………"High level work table"

Just a board on an upright, clamped in the vice, that raises the work table area to eye level

                                      I wouldn`t be without it

                                          Hi Bob,

These rope eyes look good. Your way of making however is typically a thing that only works on these big scales, I can see numerous ways to lose these little parts if it were to 1:50 scale or smaller, in which I tend to build…

                                          Scale advantage, I say! smiley

It makes a nice change working in 1/12th scale

It's also the reason, for my apparent slow progress
