              Hello All

As you can all see we are having fun in the sun, I don't like the way Lady Joyce is listing on my side, I'm not that big…but I have to admit to having a heated discussion with a Japanese whaling ship when I went for a paddle on my lilo .

Ashley we live in the North West not Pimlico I don't know anybody up here int north who drinks martineenies.. even those posing golfers drink their gin in pint pots.

                  Hello Captain Bob

I have heard a rumour that you have booked a crane and a low loader and that the police are preparing to provide a wide load escort from your house to Etherow.

Does this mean that the long awaited launch is about to happen.

Just an optimistic rumour, I`m afraid!

The model is still under construction and have no plans to sail in the immediate future!

Sorry Paul…….I know very well that you and many others are waiting impatiently for the grand sail……Including myself!……….But I`m just not ready yet

I am quite content to fiddle away making the final bits and pieces and enjoying the build………You can`t blame me for that?

                    Now…….B****er off!…..lol

                    Capt Bob

PS…………. How`s this for lateral thinking?………..When we finally get sailing, I `m thinking, we could set off on the 7.2 volt pair of motors and when a good speed is attained…….Switch over to the other pair of motors running on 12volts!……….eh?

                    I`ll bet, that`s made you all…….Even more impatient!……….Me too!

Got to admit, it`s not a pretty sight, but a novel approach?

All the segments are threaded onto a length of flex and are now nicely under control!

Yes, that's correct, Bob…………..and the Lightning is a P38 and the Warhawk is a P40. I don't see your point.

The extract from the book is actually "Little do ye know your own blessedness; for to travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive, and the true success is to labour." There are limits to this, however. For example, Sisyphus might well have disagreed with Robert Louis Stevenson (had he been given the chance). After reading 159 pages of this thread I think I know how he might have felt.

The dinghy construction had a few large gaps to fill

                                      P38 and P51 are both fillers……That's all

I've never heard of P51 filler, Bob – only P38 and P40. I can't find it using Google either. Do you have a link to it?

Ref hot air, need I remind you that it was you who introduced the literary element, m'duck? Had you not misquoted so obviously then I wouldn't have needed to correct you.

In a week's time or so this thread will have been running for a year. I only continue to read it in the fading hope that one day you will finish the damn thing and actually sail it – then we can all get on with what remains of our lives.

If I remember correctly, P51 had fibre glass strands in the mixture

Five months???!!! Some of us may not survive the wait.

The filler with chopped strand bits in it (the suppliers call it a "bridger" paste) is Isopon P40 – just in case anyone wishes to buy some. It's excellent for fitting prop tubes, rudder tubes, motor mounts and bow-thrusters to GRP hulls. P38 is a smooth filler-paste which would be more the one to use on your inflatable dinghy.

BTW The GCSE wasn't introduced until 1975. As to whether accurately repeating a misquotation is itself misquoting, I'll leave that to the philosophers (or Paul).

Hi All , I took Daves advice and used P40 to fix the plywood bulk heads to the GRP hull on my Perkasa , Then some P38 over it to sand and paint , The hull was really badly twisted so i needed something really strong i tryed epoxys but they all failed .P40 did a really good job rock solid. see my gallery.

Sisyphus had an easier task and that was after building that great canal.

Can you name the connection between Sisyphus and Springfield?

Its actually 160 pages as this build is mentioned in Genesis just after Adam takes up golf.

Can you name the connection between Sisyphus and Springfield?

Wouldn't be The Simpsons, would it?
