      Bob,

The window frames are really neat. What are your plans for the glazing?

      Tony.

        Hi Bob…

The build is looking great, will you spray or brush paint the primer to seal the hull..?

          Hello Bob

Yes its looking very nice and placing the dulux paint tin on the roof is a great scale indicator.

          Paul

Do I need to score brownie points?

Tony……I've got some special adhesive for glueing the windows in place, which dries without smearing…..I'm told

Ian………I like the freedom of brush painting

Paul……..You designed the model….Tell me the funnel dimensions please……….Ha! Ha!……Got yer!

Hi Bob , Looking really good , MSG to drawing office are you sure your CAD drawing is ok , there seems to be a error in the X axis dimensions .

Rivet shop to Chimney design shop

Permission to show rivets on the chimney?

Since welding wasn't invented till 1944, it should be acceptabell?

                        31.1 + 30 + 31.1 = 92.2mm……Whoops!

Chief Design Engineer to Metal Basher and Cohort

The funnel on this particular boat was made from brass and therefore any joints would have been brazed however your request to use rivets has been approved by the MD provided that you use the correct Tinners rivets.

Regarding the supposed error in the drawing………….there is no error. I suggest that you look at the drawing carefully and figure out why.

I think you're a bit wide of the mark there, Bob – by about 2000 years! Take a look here; it's quite fascinating. **LINK**

Paul will say that the overall width is 90mm

                                The radius is 31mm

The other dimension refers to the hole centres

                                  Hi Bob

Bless you for being an engineer and you are very close to the answer so think along the lines of what my drawings are produced for apart from dimensional information.

                                  Hi Dave

Just like all military minds yours is thinking in a very precise way but answer is a little oblique, have to look at the shape and stretch your thoughts to find the answer

                                  Paul

Dave pm sent on a separate matter.

                                      Dave……….I`m having none of it!

The drawing is a total cock up!

The drawing is misleading and not good enough to be issued to the shop floor!

The plan view and the side elevation do not correspond with each other!

Where is the wall thickness shown?

We Engineers expect clear, easy to read monkey proof drawings……Not a guessing game!

Drawing not fit for purpose!………Correct drawing and resubmit

Despite the misleading drawing, the resident Engineer has decoded the Enigma and constructed a very suitabell chimney

The other stuff in the photo are the sliding cabin doors

1)The model is six feet long. The alleged discrepancy is about 3/32" and it's in a totally 'cosmetic' component.

2)"Suitabell" is not a real word, and "the other stuff" are is the sliding doors.

I know which concern me more, but none of them is worth a tinker's cuss.

Bolted the chimney in place for effect and propped up the sliding door

                                                Hello Bob

I am aghast that you have pooh poohed my drawings in such a cavalier fashion after I have gone to such lengths to make the information monkey proof.

Any hammer wielding monkey worth his salt would have immediately recognised the radial information as being totally suitabell in referring to a flattened half circle and that the dimension specifically related to the required setting out information necessary to draw the half circle before the radial reduction is made. in monkey terms a slightly squashed half circle.

To test the validity of the information contained within the drawing I emailed a copy to Chester Zoo and the resulting funnel, that smells slightly of bananas has been posted to your address.

I realise that the above might make me seem over scrupulous, precise and an over exacting perfectionist in a punctilious, meticulous and even fussy manner but I normally answer a pooh pooh with another pooh pooh but if we all carried on pooh poohing each other we would be knee deep in pooh pooh before we realised it.

I like the door system and will ask N'kima to sort the mast out.

Thank you, Paul……Just what the grease monkey ordered!

I like the outboard steps……..A bit accident prone though?

I note there is no chimney on the first picture, those thieving monkeys will pinch anything!

Is it true that your chimney drawing was created by 999,999 chimps and just one more chimp would have got it right?

Are you also aware that I've used Gorilla glue throughout on this project?

The propshaft will run in Banana oil too……..It's as cheap as chimps!

The wood being used is from a Monkey Puzzle tree, of course……Ooo!..Ooo!…Oooops!
