In the case of Glasgow, the stanchions are premarked on the plywood deck. so I use the marks to bend the railings. I make the first bend with pliers, making sure it is dead square, then I slide on the required number of stantions.
I lay the railing flat on the deck, with the wire dead in line with the stantion dots and using a pair of flat nosed pliers, I grip the wire in the precise position, at the tip of the pliers and bend it at right angles….Having said a little prayer beforehand!
As I progress, I always make sure the angles are square and flat
I drilled the deck for the stantions and assembled the railings in position
Using lengths of brass bar as weights, threaded across the rails, to hold them in place, while the joints were superglued in position a few stantions at a time
It's a painfully slow process, but worth it in the end, if one has done a good job
