Leslie.So many variables here. Dont know the boat, but it shouldnt look as if it is too low in the water, and in general the deck should be fairly parallel to the water . The rudder post tube should have its top above the waterline to prevent water ingress, or failing that the shaft should be a good fit in the tube and greased well. The prop shaft should similarly be a good fit and lightly greased at the ends.The prop securing nuts should be adjusted for the absolute minimum play. I dont know what your hull access arrrangements are,,,eg hatches or whatever, but these should similarly be a good fit, or even taped shut in case the water rises over the deck whilst tacking etc and floods in that way.How about a picture of the hull, and on the water so we can um and arr????
