no reverse

hi running a 20amp viper on me boat and getting no reverse i have tried resetting the viper by pressing the button once the lights have stopped flashing on started up but still nothing it sounds like its trying but still nothing any ideas

Ian, its a silly question, but the model you have is a MARINE viper with reverse? they do some for cars with no reverse. If it does have reverse the standard setup is to switch it on (with the transmitter switched on of course) and push the little button while the red/green LED`s are toggling, then push the stick forward, hold a second, then neutral, then reverse for a second and that should be that. If you have no reverse after that, then either the unit is faulty or just possibly the battery supply ti it is too low. what motor are you driving? in case you are not using a standard can motor, some other types do not run backw2ards, and brushless types require a brushless controller.  Ashley

Have you still got the instructions if so look at fine tuning In this section you can cancel reverse and you may have done that whilst playing about with it.

 

have you checked that the reverse is active ? after you have done the part you have done so far , in the fine tuning section of the instructions there is a part that you have to press the green button FOUR times and then push down on your lever and then back to the middle ,This should activate your reverse .

i   bourt a viper 25 a from a certain model shop  the first one nearlt burst in yo flames sent it back received a new one that did not want to know anything sent it back  with a letter asking them to sort it out  told them what crystals i was using   they sent me a new one  all ready to go  pluged it in ok  no trouble  good old howes
