Hi all
I shall be back to work on my models in the next few days, having had a long break whilst in hospital and recovery.
The basics are finished and as was shown earlier, she floats nicely however I am not impressed with the performance so it's time to spend the kids inheritance on a new motor and esc.
Being quite a large model, I am looking for something with plenty of grunt, around 600w seems a goodly amount, I have been trawling the intawebby thing and just get so confused with the vast array of motors available and yet no clear guidance as to what would suit me best.
Am I right in saying that 1000kv means 1000 rpm per volt applied? If so then I suppose I need to get below 1000kv in order to use my 12v batteries. As I have mentioned before, I want loads of torque not revs. A gearbox is something I can live without thanks.
The batteries used are 2 x 12v 7Ahr and will continue to be used as they are just the right weight to act as ballast. We don't want her bobbing around like a cork in a bowl.
I am hoping that someone will be able to advise which if any of these would be suitable. Or even come up with a good suggestion,
