        Hello everyone,

Wanting to get into sailing model boats fairly rapidly I have taken the short cut from actually building to buying them!

I know it’s cheating, but I thought if I like the actual end result.. the sailing of the finished boat, then I may even find the time to actually build one (with this forum’s help of course) !!

Anyway, I have bought two lovely looking boats that were for sale on fleabay, and I wondered if anyone could shed some light on them, they both appear to have been scratch built and at a guess, I would say they are from the 1970’s.

Please take a look at my photo’s, if you require anymore information or photo’s I can always do that.

        Thanks everyone,

        Oliver.

If it has a fibleglass hull then it’s possible that Boston Blenheim is based on the Kingston Mouldings hull. Check out the dimensions here:

          Enjoy the models!

            Hi Colin,

Thanks for your reply, I can confirm that those dimensions are the same, although it does appear to have a wooden (ply)? hull.

There isn’t a battery in the hold, but there is a  servo (can’t see the make, only able to read CE0682) and the motor is an MFA Comodrills 4.5 15v.

The receiver is an Acoms BEC 2ch.

What does intrigue me from the link you posted is that they say a “A large 12 volt gel cell was fitted”, I just can’t see where one that size could be stored in the available space!

I think I am going to be looking for some help from a member that lives within  30 miles of Nuneaton, I do want to upgrade the boat and I have been told that Spektrum Trannies (DX6i) are good. So it looks like I might need a servo, motor and a new receiver.

            Regards,

            Oliver.
