      Hi All

As we are all in lockdown I restarted this project from a few years ago!!!

Found an old Johnson 888 brush motor with motor mount, a drive line and 5 blade 50mm prop.

A young lass for a driver and she is a red head !!!

Ooh I like that Harry. Could fit any “character” figure in it for a change in style week-to-week.

Thats the sort of thing I should make to let the kiddies have a go at boating, but not with that whopping motor in it!

Whatever floats you boat!  So redheads are your thing …   wink

This looks a lot bigger than your average Noodle boat and vastly more powerful. Have you split the noodle to fit around the ply or glued it on top of the ply? It will be interesting to see if with all that power it rises with throttle or ploughs the bow into the water.

I did look at a commercial offering where the noodle had half above the deck & half below and wondered if you got an air pocket trapped under the hull & if so then what effect?

Should be fun. We are all kids at heart (or at least I am)

On the noodle, and i reckon Harry deliberately left it on top, it says “only under supervision”.

now, is that you Harry? To be supervised when sailing?.

                  Hi All Poor Lock downers

Ashley is right on the noodle with the noodle on top!!!

It's only bits floating/sinking about to use up.

They do not supervise me when I sail/low fly they get out of my flight path !!!!

My Lassie has been in the computer room waiting for the right boat to float her idea for speed!!

Not TOO fast, but NOT slow !!!

                  JUST RIGHT !!!

Harry she is a bit overdressed I would say…..

You are obviously going to put another lass on the deck sunbathing, to fill the space up?…..?!

                      Rudder?

                      Ashley

What type of glue attaches ply to a noodle reliably in a wet situation and (?) can join the 2 ends of the noodle remembering that a noodle is not a rigid structure?

PS What happened to the red hair? Why have you covered it up??????

                          Hi Ashley and Chris

                          Working on the rudder shape.

The hoodie was on the Lass, so I will Leave it on for the present.

Glue the two halves of the noodle with that new Tarzan Grip and a piece of 25mm plastic pipe inside.

Gluing onto the plywood bottom with the same glue.

The engine hood may get a set of exhaust pipes !!!

Started making the two hatches and closing in the top.

Do you think that you might need some sort of keel for directional stability including wind?

I had never heard of Tarzan Grip before. Seems to be mainly included on Australian sites.

                              .

My floating saucer behaves itself very well despite being round, oddly enough. Harry just needs to fit a large sized rudder and there won’t beaproblem with directional stability.

Wont stop it getting blown about, however a certain lack of control should be expected from something like this and will make it more fun.

Are you talking about the boat or me???
