              Looks very menacing!

How did she perform, this morning?

Are your motors better than the Brushless ones?

                Good Morning Captain

I switched back to the brushless and ran them at 12v to say that it almost flew wouldn't be an understatement. We had a very pleasant hour sailing and getting some more photos.

We went very early in the hope that we could have the water to ourselves, and avoid the midday sun but when we arrived there was another boater already on the water.

Jane was operating the boat from the front seat of the car and was occasionally blinded by the sun glinting off the water so she was being extra careful not to hit the other boat when she pushed the stick forward.

Hi Doc ………..Pleased that you've put the Brushless back, as they are more in keeping with the Hi Tech Hull!

Did the Brushed motors show any advantage over the Brushless type?

I suspect the Brushed motors had more power at low speed?

                    Captain

I wanted to try the brushed motors with a static pull test and Brutus was the most convenient hull to use.

The brushless have a greater top speed but only a third of the grunt but its hardly surprising as the Torque Masters were designed for tugs.

Brutus performed very well despite the huge turning circle but in hindsight after changing the motors I should have re-set the battery position as the model rode higher on the bow than it should.

To quote one of my favorite authors 'It looks like a fish, moves like a fish but steers like a cow'.

                        Hi Ashley

Thanks for the kind words, yes at 1.2m (4ft) it is big and very solid thanks to Captain Bobs excellent construction.

                          Hi Paul

Wasn't an exciting time building the original Brutus?

Full of interest and anticipation of the outcome!

                          Special motors, Cooling fans

                          Razor sharp wire reinforced prow

Acute pinched nose effect for slicing through the waves

Blow by blow construction with minor snags

Not to mention the patter and caustic comments, occasional aggro etc

                          Happy days……..Bob

Yes Brutus is in the next issue so the reader can revisit the heady days of Captain Bob building one of my wilder creations and find out some of the unpublished story behind the epic saga.

If the reader can stay awake long enough to reach the end of the article then they will discover the ultimate reason behind the design.

For Pauls benefit, what size of photo do you submit for publication?

All my photos have been reduced accordingly, for the website, and Paul is being asked for the originals…….Which were erased, years ago

But I now think, he's got round the problem, somehow

The editor will like the BIGGEST POSSIBLE picture file size.

Those of us without fancy all-singing all dancing DSLR jobbies this may vary as JPEG`s between ,,,,oooh….3 and perhaps 6 ish Megga pixels?? depending on the light and if they have been cropped.

Fancy software can clarify small images, and of course magazine printed photos are not of any great pixel size. However, certain magazines in the past used to be satisfied with polaroid's…

                                              Hi Dave

My mistake, (although Brutus does make a quick appearance on page 78) the actual article is supposed to be in the October issue…..i.e. the one arriving through your letter box at the beginning of September………

I am hoping that all becomes clear as Colin changes the monthly thread.

                                              Confusing isn't it.
