Some might not see the changes as improvements.

In fact the rivet counters might describe the changes as childish.

But I'm a big kid at heart and enjoy pushing the boundaries of convention.

Its amazing what you can do with crayons and pipe cleaners!

A word of warning….pipe cleaners soak up water and may make the boat too heavy!

This sort of boat needs dazzle, although this is at odds with the "stealthy" look that the negative rake bow gives a boat. I made my rubber band boat REALLY stealthy!

Daddy Longlegs is close but no cigar and it is neither grandson nor artistic. sarcastic 2

Jane describes it as 'bottom of the pigeon loft' which, although true, is very disheartening as this paint job represents hours of research and a great deal of eye watering and painstaking work…..[and if you believe this]

                        Hi Cookie

                        Thanks for the comments

Remember the motor from Haydock well this has two of them in it and it went like a rocket until the motors broke their mounts (again) I was surprised at just how much torque these motors produce so make sure yours is well bolted down.

I am quite pleased with the dazzle / daub paintwork as it was difficult to see at the far end of the lake where the outline blended into the water (guess who ran it into the wall)

How is your build coming on?

Might the torpedo tubes be in the wrong place?

They spoil the bow wave, down there

                                      Hello Captain Bob smiley

I am trying for the impression of scale speed and don't envisage a full size version making a bow wave any higher than the torpedo tube structure.

Besides if you cast your mind back to over two years ago the shop floor commented on the bow wave being to high and swamping the deck and suggested that some kind of wave deflector might be a good idea. The drawing office listened to your comment and designed the torpedo tube structure accordingly.

                                          Hi Paul

Why don't you make the forward tubes……High pressure suction pipes……..And they could suck the ship forward?

In which case, they should be under the water and out of sight

                                          Food for thought?

                                            Torpedo tubes…yes working….no (not yet)

                                            Captain Bob

Following your proposal to its logical conclusion wouldn't the aft end of these tubes be described as water jets? nice idea but this ship has a far more fundamental means of crossing the oceans……a method that involves folding props and the most abundant element.

There are some "most abundant" cars on the road, but not seen a boat powered by it. Interesting concept though.
