Here we go again!

Two motors….Two ESC`s……Two stick batteries……….BEC system

We are offered the choice of using the BEC or not………What do you experts advise?

Any advice on the system, that we should know?

I'm certainly no expert when it comes to electrickery but I do believe in the belt and braces approach and would always use the bec.

Bob,

I would use the BEC supply from one of the ESCs which becomes the master unit and should always be switched on first or connected to the battery first. On the second ESC, pull back the red wire from the flat connector that goes to the receiver, presumably via some form of splitter lead. Tape over this red wire so it is no longer connected to the receiver and cannot short to earth. This second ESC becomes the slave unit and should always be switched on after the master, or connected to its battery after the master.

Well, I visited the Oracle at Dodoni today for some advice so in future my rulings shall be unquestioned and incomprehensible – yes I know, no change there!

Top floor hotel room has a suitably majestic view but getting there is like climbing Mount Olympus and my knees are nearly shot. Maybe I could borrow some winged sandals from a colleague….

Andy, just to bring you up to date, we've scrapped the Brushless Motors and gone back to the much slower Brushed type for reliability.

We have to be up and running for Sunday the 15th, Fathers Day, for the Lyme Park Show in Cheshire

Both motors are installed and working nicely…….Going berserk actually!

So we are finally almost there!

Now for tidying up the wiring and tinkering with minor improvements and embellishments

The members will have probably forgotten that I didn't build a prototype of Brutus so your boat is the only one in existence……………I am really keen to see how it responds on the water and if it lives up to the design expectations.
