Many thanks for our suggestions, Ashley will them more thought later on

It makes me wonder why some country`s have gone for hundreds of little armed four man vessels ?

If they all carried small guides missiles…..Mmmmmmm>

Even I wouldn't try to mount a 2000kg guided missile on a four man rubber dinghy, a small missile of 700kg would present significant problems not least of which would be the lack of room for crew and launching frame.

This is what happens when little boats make an unexpected vist to a warship link

            Thank you, Doc

Very unimpressed with you shooting, old boy

I could have done better with my BSA Airsporter in the 60`s

0.22" of course with the Abell multi shot magazine

You couldn`t hit a rowing boat in a month of Sundays

Only pulling your leg old chap…….As you would be aware of?

Getting a bit concerned about the weight of the model now, Capt and getting it downstairs, and then getting it upstairs

Not to worry, we`ll sort it somehow

              Captain Bob

I can just see you taking on a Phalanx (firing 4500 rounds per minute) with your old BSA and its multi shot magazine…..the trouble is that you always come out on top so you would probably win.

Does Brutus mk2 have to live upstairs during the sailing season?

If your staircase is straight you could make a rope controlled funicular type platform to slide up and down the stairs.

To reduce weight of mk2 you could keep the inner components on a removable tray, then the only connection to worry about is sliding the UV joints onto the splines.

                Hi Paul

Not a problem really, I will modify the stand to make it into a smooth bottom sledge and slide it downstairs on a rope and vice versa for getting it upstairs

As I did with the Myford Lathe

Just out of interest…..How do other Boaters get their models down stairs?

I used to keep my larger models in our loft, so that meant an extra set of stairs to get down. I have now treated myself to a timber cabin in the garden, so that's where the big models live. I still have some smaller ones in the house, so the way to get those down the stairs is – carefully.

I think a garden shed is not good in Wintertime though?

I've lost a few models due to the damp

No progress with the build for the last few days

                      Due to the heat

I think Tim is referring to a type of garden building with thick walls that can be used as an all seasons office or studio as opposed to a leaky, draughty shed.

Not surprised that you cant work on mk2, your attic workshop must be like an oven.

You are quite correct there, Paul, about my workshop

It was like Dantes Inferno………But even hotter

It was so hot last night, I actually slept on the bedroom floor

With a few cans of ice cold Lager to cling to………And I don`t mean to drink either!

For tonight, I`ve got a hot water bottle in the fridge to keep me company

They do help, you try it

Hi Paul, I've just read your post, I 'be got quite a few

Where is it safe to store them?

                              Bob

Safe storage is anywhere cool and in the shade, a box in the garden on a north facing wall, somewhere the sun doesn't reach.

Don't move them out of your workshop until it is cooler (early morning) as moving a hot spray can might increase the internal pressure to an explosive point.

                                      Sorry about that, old chap

Windows 10 updated my PC a few days ago, without my permission and left it in a fine mess

Slowly my stuff gradually returned, it alsp affected my IPad somehow

                                      Can`t understand it

Any more of my messages repeated?

I said 'don't move them until morning when its cooler' for a reason as the cans needed to cool slowly.

The simple action of moving the hot cans could have increased the internal pressure causing an explosion.

On the other hand a rapid drop in temperature by putting them in cold water could have resulted in the can collapsing and then exploding.

What set off to be a "Get it downstairs sledge" and also a " Get it from the car to the pond sledge " but it also ended up as an " Assembly turntable" for easy access on the work bench, up them dreaded stairs.

The model is getting very heavy now and also very awkward to handle
