      My grandson is showing some interest in model boats and would like one of the Thundertiger ARTR fishing boats for his next birthtday.  I have not seen this range and wonder if they represent good value.  Prices seem to vary so much. any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi John, they are very good value for the money, I’ve had the Lobmaster for about 10 months without a single problem. In that time it has run at least once a week and sometimes more when the club has had a show. It has a ‘real’ radio control that you can change the crystals and comes with everything you need to get on the water except the batteries for the transmitter. Very well made, with a double hull that is virtually unsinkable. You do need to shop around for the best price, I paid £99 for mine at the local model shop, but I doubt you will get one under £129.00 these days. Ebay is a good place to try if you don’t mind the internet. There are three pictures of mine in the competition pages, I have mildly converted it into aGreek boat…..Best of luck, and if you get one, you WILL have fun with it…..cheers………Tont

Howes Models do this I think at the moment for £99.00 although I think they are sold out at the moment.  Might be worth contacting them though.  There is a link to them in the adds down the right hand side of this page.
