I’m after buying a revolving radar for 12 volts, and after intensive internet searches I’m stuck,  I can find 6v but this is no good for me.

Squires of Bognor Regis sell 12v Grain of Wheat bulbs in red, green and white. They aslo sell red and green 3mm leds. They don’t have an online shop so you would have to telephone them.

Maplins do 3mm red and green 12v leds but I’m not sure if you can get white ones though. You can buy online from them.

You can use standard LEDs as long as you have the correct resistor attached.

You can make a 6v motor run on 12v supply either by using a voltage regulator if 5v output is OK ( see http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=voltage%20regulators&source=15&nbsp or by putting a resistor in the motor supply leads.  Otherwise, If you know what current the motor will take, it is fairly easy to calculate what the resistor value needs to be – I can work it out for you if you want.

              This might help:
12v bulbs in Red, Green, Blue, Amber and Clear are available from the same source.
              Suit yourself.
