After many years away from modelling, I find more time on my hands (Retirement)
I am surprised how much has changed. There is a greater degree of expertise evident from the final build that many achieve. BUT when I was active in boating – I simply reached for my MAP boat plan catalogue and choose my next venture from a reasonably up to date Grey Funnel Fleet listing.

Although I am new to finding little gems on the net regarding boat plans – it seems that plans are not so in abundance as was previously the case. Any tips re a comprehensive site would be welcomed. From what I have seen so far – I will need to get a pantograph to get the final size boat that appeals to me (anyone able to recommend a suitable one?)

This is my first post on this forum, and look forward to any input received
      Thanks in advance

I find its more useful if you have an idea of what you are searching for first…trawler…tug  etc etc

Re expertise of build quality, I think you will find that mediocrity is alive and well at most ponds!  photos are or can be misleading, NOT that I am suggesting the quality of build is anything less than Raquel Welch in “MB” magazine you understand.

I have been to shows and generally the quality is stunning, but there again, they are exhibiting at a show.. I have, unfortunately, no models of “show” quality, but they are all tidy non-the-less.(and mostly a bit different)

My local stationer/print shop has a truly massive copier that can enlarge plans to whatever you want , and I have used them in the past for various projects.

Thanks for your responses – I am making progress, and have found the Jecobin site

Got exactly what I was after – a 1/96th drawing of a Type 22 warship. This now means no need for a pantograph after all.
Now, let me go into the garage and see what wood etc etc…………………..!!
