Could anyone direct me to a firm who would make me a couple of water-slide decals (or transfers)-not computer-cut vinyl- for my boat names and port of registry?
height of smallest would be 3 mm, and white lettering is wanted.
      Thanks to anyone who helps!

Waterslide transfers  can be easily made on a PC.

Using a specialised paper called ‘Lasertran’, the desired
transfer can be designed in the computer, printed out using an inkjet printer,
soaked in water, slid into position on the hull, smoothed out and allowed to
dry. Once dry, the transfer has to be fixed in position with clear varnish or
else it will come off when it gets wet.

This is not really relevent, but in my aeromodelling days, I used to make my own transfers, by painting designs onto water based gummed paper with dope.

Then if a sharp edge was required, the design could be trimmed with scissors

The paper was soaked in water and the design came away

Thanks to Paul, Bob and Tom!

I’ve located the local agent for ‘Lasertran’ (I’m in Western Canada) and am investigating further.

                Cheers
