AAArrrrgh… I get my lifeboat all ready and turn up at the pond to give that Chris geezer a GOOD THRASHING, in the freezing cold and rain this morning, after seeing the performance of his boat a few weeks ago..but the B

has apparently taken some BAD ADVICE from yours truly (regarding not underpowering things) and fitted a pair of SPEED400`s !!
OO er. I think Chris`s previously posted picture is well out of date now and should include some skiers behind it ! Oddly enough, despite undeniably being a BIT faster than mine
, it wasnt as fast as it should have been with 2×400`s, considering my toddy speed280`s. It has to be the hull. We have both filled in the depressions beneath the hull and visually there is hardly any difference between the two boats. I think there is a case here for some fine tuning, and I intend to fit a full width shelf at the rear about an inch wide to see if lengthening the hull makes any difference. The nose lifts up very high when power is applied, and there might be a case of shifting some weight forward, however this would affect the look of the craft at low speeds. As it has a nose up attitude when flying along, then of course when you stop engines the whole craft nosedives in a very unseamanlike manner when slowing down.Ho Hum.I know its not supposed to be a speedboat, but dont care. Then there is the matter of excess hull lumps and bumps…… Ashley
