        Hi Roger,

My recent purchase was a 6 channel Microzone set (TX&RX) from Howes for mi Puffer.

Inexpensive at 39 pounds and it worked a treat.

        Len.

I think with all these manufacturers you have to compare like for like.  Depending on the Flysky model and the Spektrum model, if you compare transmitters with equal specifications I suspect there is little to choose between them.  I use Spektrum for the flexibility.  I have a Dx6e, which can store up to 200 models, so I use it for boats, lorries, cars and even an aircraft.  If there is a similar specified Flysky model I’m sure there won’t be much to choose between them.  I do like Spektrum quality though and have never had a failure after using the Dx6i and the Dx6e for around 20 years.

Thank you every one for your response  it certainly gives me food for thought , the problem is one spektrum  has no signal on left rudder been told this is a known problem and the other radio when using memory 4 on tx I lose the signal intermittently  but all other model memory works fine

              Hi Roger,

Not sure which Flysky you were considering, but I have the Flysky FS-i6X and get on OK with it. Here’s the basics:

6 channels – can be upgraded to 10 with a free firmware update (some come with it already installed). The cable to do the update came with mine but may not come with all of them.

Firmware update cable can also be used to connect transmitter to PC flight simulators that support it.

Comes by default with ratchet throttle. A self centering kit is available which I fitted to mine

The instruction manual is not the best. If you want to more than basic setup (differential thrust mixing for example) your best bet is youtube videos.

The first 4 channels are on the usual sticks, the others can be assigned to 2 variables, 3 two position switches and 1 three position switch.

I recently discovered that if you select the right 2 receivers, you can assign them both to 1 model at the same time. Control landing craft and landed vehicle without changing transmitters maybe? I can check which 2 receivers worked together if anyone interested.

By the way, you may need to change all your receivers if you change transmitter brand.

              Hope that helps

              Dave

By the way, you can download the manual and firmware update from Flysky

FlySky you get a lot for your money and certainly adequate for running a boat.

I have the FS-i6 and have been flying gliders for years with it and never had any issues.

Modifying the FS-i6 for boat control – left stick self centring – £3 kit from Howes hobby.

Bit fiddly as most of the components are tiny, but quite doable.

                          Works a treat.IMG_3131
