That's ok Ashley. The clamps are all back in the drawer now the paint had dried.

I nearly tidied the shelves before the photo. Perhaps I will do that after Christmas.

The workshop at Christmas is quite a feature, I know where most things are (on a good day)

I couldn't imagine how many hours I've spent modelling in here over the last 36 years

I'm afraid I'm with Tim. My wife would probably describe it as "An unnatural aversion to clutter", which almost certainly comes from many years of holding crew accountable for a clean and tidy workshop. To give you an idea of how I work I have a cordless Dyson on a bracket next to my workbench and, as soon as I create some shavings or dust they get sucked up. I just reckon OCD is a condition enjoyed by the privilidged few.

The bag behind the soldering station is my stash of humbugs, in the hope the missis won't notice them.

Hi Richard,

That is some super model room you have there !! as my workshop is the garage, it's sort of evolved over a long time time, I maybe will restructure in the future, but now too busy building & playing trains

Today was sailing day, but it's raining and blowin a 5 so keeping warm indoors.

I didn't want to tell Ashley that there was a vacuum cleaner just out of the pictures waiting to suck up any dust.

The loft is a multi use space, at the moment being used as a bedroom for visiting family. So I like to keep the dust down.

Posting some pics, some time ago, of my workshop in the garden I had to put some sawdust on the bench to for Ashley.

I think if it were a competition it would be a pretty close decision between Ray and Neil`s workplaces.

Whenever my wife ventures into the garage it`s descibed as a mess. Funny how when there`s a job she needs doing that can only be done in the the garage, it`s never mentioned

Ray, what you have there is called a ‘Man Nest’ , mine is similar. It’s like what mice do when they find a nice place to nest. 😂

Terry is looking really great….and I am well pleased with it….but it much too heavy! 447g and most of it is up top. 447g with base does not sound like much, but a bumper is 300g and a Dalek 200g…..

He is going to be scrapped, I think, and I will have to make a much simpler Tardis, with no “features” (lit up windows and top light) in order to keep the weight manageable. It’s not cost much..bits of styrofoam and Perspex so not a disaster. There is no way the current Terry will be stable, and there will be no margin to put ballast under the battery like the Dalek tops as the waterline will creep up the foam bumper.

I have a template for the panels in the sides, so I am thinking simply four side pieces, and four thin top pieces only for a new Terry.

Well, we made it till 11am then the heavens opened! Our first meet up since the beginning of December, which was either raining or the pond was frozen solid ! Roll on spring!

We had a couple of hours boating today before it became more rain rather than showers. I had the Argus out and a man recognised it and said his father/uncle flew either Hurricanes is Gladiators off it during the war. Despite being of an age, the Argus survived into the Second World War and was used to ferry aircraft to Malta and other places as well as training.

Just finished sticking lettering on Terry Mk2. 15mm letters and wouldn't you know it, there were only three “X”s left!, Had to cut up two “Y”s. Windows had second coat of white, so only the telephone hatch label and window frames to do and I can then stick it on a bumper top. Diddly dum diddly dum..

Great cover for Feb’s mag!! Unfortunately as I understand it, this is Richard the designers last mag and I think congrats are on order for some sterling work over the years. He is taking early retirement, so good luck on that front!

Minus 6 degrees here (Harry) and it’s whiter than a (write in here). Likely the pond will be frozen again at the week-end??
