              Hi Maurice,

I have just got plans for Kathleen with a view to also building a Thames Barge, great plans but no modeling details, you would have to work out your hull ribs from the drawing but not difficult with a bit of thought.
Kathleen plans on a number of sheets and very detailed, however if you see a plan titled ‘Thames Sailing’ it is a waste of time, I thought it may be a simple build for a Barge but it is only a simple outline sketch and of no use to building a Sailing Barge.
Have a look at the Ivor Bittle website, very informative.

              Good luck. Ken.

suggest going to http://barge.homeunix.org/ which is the home of AMBO the association of model barge owners.

the site gives lists of plans available, and from where, and whether hulls can be purchased in glass etc. There are also building tips etc.

PS forgot to mention, I’m a member of AMBO and have built tb Celia Jane, building tb Lady Daphne, have the tb Kitty as a card model, and have the tb Wil Everard from the 1970 kit by Billings to build too.  I prefer to build the hull from wood, but there are good hulls in gladd fibre too.
