superglue allergy

Interested to get views on this one. Superglue is very useful, but I feel it is also pretty noxious as a substance. I suffered no ill effects until very recently, but now whenever I open a bottle my eyes water, my nose rus and I feel distinctly ill. I understand others have had similar experience.

Superphatic and similar glues are very handy and I have moved over to that where possible. But there are fiddly jobs where it is good to have something quick setting. Would people recommend those UV setting glues?  Interested in all thoughts on this subject! Many thanks

As I mentioned only very recently on here, I had a bad experience with a superglue only a couple of years ago when some fumes got into my left eye.  It now frequently feels slightly dry and uncomfortable so I know I did something.  Unfortunately I still believe that superglue is an excellent glue and I have not stopped using it in three different densities, however I am now significantly more careful when I use it.  The challenge I had was when using the very thin type when it wicks quickly into an absorbent material such as tissue, cotton cloth or rope.  Under those conditions it suddenly gives off a white vapour which is very toxic.

Consequently I don’t get my face too close, I keep the windows open and I avoid using the thin on an absorbent surface.  I’ve never had a challenge with the thicker viscosities.  So basically I’m just more careful but still use cyano.
