        Hey Paul,

Did your tour guides explain what this weird and wonderful looking craft would be? And did you take more snaps of it? This really sparks my interest…!

(ekranoplans also do, but to a lesser extend as I have been diving into these marvelous crafts before…)

          Hi Diede

The guides were very informative and proud of this craft, its called Bartini Beriev VVA 14 and is the first prototype of the Ekranoplan.

Lots of fun to be had here…….the vodka flows freely and the research facilities are 1st class.

The chaps have helped me develop the compressed air system and the integrated speed controller.

I'm off to see a specialist glue manufacturer later called 'Glue Lag' ….the guides haven't told me much about it but assure me that its a place that I will always remember.

Yes, it's the Russian equivalent of Hotel California – you can check in but you can never leave….

Never mind remembering or forgetting……I cant dance.

Besides I don't qualify for the entrance criteria.

So I think it best to swerve this place.

I have skipped St Petersburg before Tiffany and the pretty boys catch up with me.

I hitched a ride on an icebreaker called Tarmo

Just arrived in Skagen , Denmark which is the home of Danish Yachts.

The ships and boats here are amazing and ultra modern.

                              Great news.

I'm off for a pint of Kronborg at Elsinore with my new friend William Polonius where we are attending a send off for Laertes (Bills son) who is off to university in France.

Apparently Laertes girlfriend is upset at him going away and might cause a scene at the party but Bill isn't really bothered and thinks that she complains too much. It all goes back to Laertes last term as he told her that he was staying in room 2B but when she tried ringing nobody answered. Obviously perplexed by this she contacted the collage porter and asked if Laertes used 2B or not 2B, which is a fair question.

Elsinore is supposed to be a lovely place but I'm told that it suffers from an over-riding smell of tobacco from the nearby cigar factory.

Got to sign off now as the taxi has arrived.

                                  What a night out.

Talk about crazy… Elsinore knocks the Aigburth Arms for six.

The chap that owns the place is called Claudius and he owes another guy, called Fortinbras, some money. This family feud has been going on for years but last night it all kicked off, first of all the bouncers, Bernardo & Marcellus attack an intruder who turned out to be a ghost (that Danish gin is strong stuff)

Then it turns out that Claudius didn't really own the place but had nicked it from his brother after murdering him by dripping poison in his ear (I always thought that couldn't be done) not only did he take all of his brothers belongings he also jumped into bed with the guys wife…………this is where the Eastenders script writers get their ideas from.

Then the dead guys ghost turns up and started complaining that the bouncers wouldn't listen.

I'd had enough and called for the taxi driver to pick me up but when the cab arrived there was a different driver at the wheel, he explained that the first driver whose name was Yorick had disappeared.

I was quite upset at missing my return trip with Yorick as he had told some great jokes and I had got to know him well.
