The crew are very impressed that I know a captain of such stature ….they all know about the Great Eastern….and are very excited about meeting you.

I don't know what it is and for all I know it could be in Narnia on the back of the card it says Спасибо за вовлечения which is about as much use as a chocolate kettle

All of this global gallivanting is great fun but I'm not getting any work done on the Ghost and now some chap wants a 4ft TID drawing up so I might have to jump ship at the next port….wherever that is.

Still submerged somewhere in the Atlantic.

The crew organised an English night yesterday which was great fun especially seeing these burly chaps wearing undersized bowler hats and monocles made from milk bottle tops.

The chef arranged a fish and chip supper for everyone.

Its really weird but one of the cooks, who is really good at frying fish, is very small and has pointed ears……now I don't believe in Leprechauns or Fairies but I would swear this guy is Elvish.

Just arrived at St Petersburg which is in Russia (not Florida)

I am a guest of the Krylov state research centre

I'm like a kid in a sweet shop as the place is full of ships, boats and submarines.

They have a HUGE pond to sail model boats in and everyone is very keen to see how the Ghost works. I have my own personal guide who has promised me a trip around the city.

How can secret police be secret?

I've just had a stand up row with a couple of guys who claimed to be secret police…….like I said if they are secret how do they know….and if they do know then they cant be secret.

I think that something was lost in translation as they were completely stumped by this and went off muttering about the good old days.

Off out for a meal in a North Korean restaurant tonight, which I am looking forward to but my guide has warned me not to drink the tea.

I wonder where I will end up tomorrow

I am certainly meeting some strange people on this world tour and all of them claim to be secret agents. The latest is the strangest of all because even though its very cold here he is wandering around in shorts with a daft floppy hat.

The chaps here at the research centre have been a great help in developing the Ghost and I have lots of ideas for new designs.

Bob, more snaps as requested. See how wet it is up until about 1/2 throttle….

Other snaps show about best height, although I have yet to fit oversize flaps at the rear and try mu 11V Lipo, which should make a big difference to the performance and height-off-water. I was dissapointed to be honest with the ride height considering the large wing area. I think it is one of those things..a small increase in speed (with the Lipo) will lift it up a bit more, the drag will decrease a bit, it will lift up even more and so on. The prop is deliberately very deep because of this,

Bob. The KM is only JUST in the water as shown.

On the real thing the wings were at the bottom of the hull. or at least. much further down than I made them. I put them further up to help prevent the sort of pre-wetting as seen, and the possibility of the wing actually pulling the craft under. Also the suction of those wings being flat on the water would be something else. Elevators, if fitted, would have to work I think or the drag would initially be too much. I am going to put elevators/flaps on the rear tail to hopefully lift the back up a bit. I hope to make it leave the water this year so watch this space.

The hull is very very thin compared to its length and this also makes it behave strangely, although it does aid the speed. It accelerates with a rapidity not shown by many other craft on the pond (note for those ponders reading this..I am not saying it IS the fastest accelerating, just that it is up there with the best)

It is also very weather concious; there has to bo no wind or the waves drag at the hull even when going fast, and it also stops the boat steering properly, as there is a massive tail at the back. I could have made the tail rudder move, but it is not neccessary in the calm.

The GHOST may also have problems in the wind and also with the waves…
