I once built a Tippecanoe model sailing boat (not difficult as hull was pre-formed etc.). Now I would like to get started with an RC boat. Can anyone suggest something good for a beginner which would not be too complex so I could “hit” the water quite quickly but still have done some building? Budget around £100, no particular preference but I am partial to military subjects.
One of Glynn Guest’s designs would meet the bill I think. There is a free plan for a WW2 era US destroyer, USS Ripley, in the current (June) issue of the magazine for example.
Glynn’s projects are always practical, look good and perform well.
I think the June edition is still on the shelves, there were several still in my local W H Smith on Friday – but yes you can order back issues directly from this site: http://www.myhobbystore.co.uk/browser/15/magazines
In many cases MyHobbyStore will be able to sell you a copy of theconstructional article which went with each plan but if not then just ask on the Forum and I or another member will probably be able to find it for you.
